Wake up – stay alert

I recently heard the Spirit say “Wake up. Stay alert – these are not the days to slumber!” All around us there is turmoil, especially in the Middle East, and if all we ‘see’ is what’s happening in the world we can become complacent and discouraged.

The nations are being scrambled around to fulfil the scripture concerning the last days – but in all this turmoil and moving of nations – there is a greater move of God happening in every one of them. Sadly the media fails to report what God is doing!

It’s vital we ‘wake up’ and not get discouraged and see what God is doing because He wants to use us in these days, for example – praying in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit wants to pray through you about things in the Kingdom of God we are not aware of (and our minds don’t need to know to be effective).

See Ephesians 6: 11-18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching with all perseverance and supplication for all Saints.” With eyes to see what God is doing. Are we being faithful to obey the Word? Remember the story of the wise and the foolish virgins? The wise virgins kept alert and ready but the foolish slumbered and were unprepared. Using this story Jesus said (Matt 24:42) “keep watch because you do not know the day or the hour” and (Matt 24:44) “you must be ready because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.”

We need to open our ears to hear what God is saying and open our eyes to see what God is doing. We are on the Earth for a purpose. Keep alert, know your destiny and follow it because when we do we become dangerous to the kingdom of darkness. Now that’s worth rejoicing about!
